“I wanted to thank you for a great clinic....I figured it would be good but it exceeded my expectations! I went there looking to become a better coach and walked out a better person, in turn will help me be a better coach...I had it backwards and the presentation made me realize that!" -Tom L’Italien (Head Basketball Coach, Newburyport HS &/Head Baseball Coach, Pentucket Regional HS)
“Coach Farris and Coach Moscariello have greatly influenced my attitude, mental toughness, and ultimately my success as a high school, college, and professional baseball player. I would highly recommend Personal Best to athletes at any level.”

"For my entrepreneurship classes at Suffolk University in Spring 2012, Pete Moscariello and Scott Farris gave a fantastic, "stand up and cheer" presentation on all it takes to achieve your personal best, whether in sports, business or life. Pete and Scott showed by their own example (and from their many years coaching high school championship baseball teams) what excellence really is, and how much heart, imagination, hard work, and spirit underly true success. It was a lively, fun and inspiring session, incorporating high level ideals with practical tools for building your dreams one block at a time. It was definitely one of my best classroom experiences ever, and I know it left a lasting impression on the students as well."
Amy Blitz, Visiting Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Suffolk 2011-2012, and Professor of Management Practice at Babson, 2010-present.
"Our team experienced a great workshop w/ the Personal Best team of Pete Moscariello and Scott Farris. They really did a great job of engaging the athletes and supplying them with useful techniques to apply the principals they were exposed to. They truly "coached" our players during the workshop. Our guys really benefited from the time spent with Coach Moscariello and Coach Farris. You can see the guys using the routines every day in our games and practices. We expect Personal Best to be a big part of every season.”

Thank you so much for coming to Arlington and giving us the opportunity to learn from you both. I can
honestly say it was the best training session I have ever attended and I've gone to many state recreation
conferences, AAPHERD, and whatever else life has thrown at me. I felt when I walked into my house
last night that I grew a few inches. I was standing taller, my chest was puffed out a bit, I might have actually
reached 5' 9". I have a whole new perspective on my reality. Things aren't always as bad as they seem, once
you use some positive thinking. I can honestly say it was life-changing. I can't wait to see where my new way
of thinking will lead me. Thanks again guys and please send me over a proposal for some training dates for out
next brochure.
People have no idea what they are missing out on. THIS IS AWESOME!
Dan McGrath, Arlington Recreation Program Director:
Hello Coach,
I just want to thank you again for last night. It was truly a great experience and it’s something I will never forget. I learned so much and not only do I plan to implement what I learned into basketball and baseball, I plan to implement everything to my everyday life. It was a pleasure to attend and I just wanted to thank you again because it is something that I will always remember. “ Will Habib, Varsity Basketball & Baseball Player, Newburyport High School
Hi Scott and Pete,
Thanks for a great class last week. I really enjoyed it. I have the "Today" postcard on my refrigerator. I told my daughter to visualize herself on the podium for her gym meet....and she came in first on Vault!" -Wendy Galante, parent of student-athletes

“We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your Mental Toughness classes. It was helpful to us to take it together, so we can talk about it and remind each other of what we’ve learned. ... I plan to draw on what I’ve learned to help me be a better wife and mother, and to help me stick to a plan to work a little each day on a book I’ve been writing. Much of what you said applied very directly to working on a long-term creative project, bit by bit, and guiding kids in any endeavor. My husband planned to apply it to his busy work, which requires a lot of physical and emotional effort and unwavering steadiness, and affects a lot of people. We both hope to use it to regulate the group and individual moods in our house, since all five of us stick together and affect each other a lot. And we’re hoping to stay more positive, since we’ve noticed that it’s tempting to be negative as a way of being funny or self-deprecating or to seem wise, and then it becomes a habit. We were both saying yesterday how fortunate the High School is to have you there. We feel very grateful that you offered this to adults. It has us thinking!”
- From a husband and wife team who took Personal Best's course
“When Coach Mosc and Coach Farris offered the MT program to parents, both my husband and I were curious to learn what it was all about. Our son has been involved with the mental toughness program for years. He lived the program and when I had a bad day at work, he would give me strategies to cope! We were extremely impressed by how much the program applies to life. It gave us strategies to deal with day to day challenges. And since my husband took the training, too, we were able to use the techniques on each other and improve our relationship! Everyone should take this program to improve at their jobs, in their relationships and enrich their lives. I know my son will be successful in whatever he decides to do in life because he has the right foundation to get him there - thanks to Coach Mosc's and Coach Farris' program!"
-Cathy Covitz (PB course participant and parent of ReadingHigh School Baseball Captain)
"I just thought I would drop a note to you about your presentation of "Personal Best: Mental Toughness Training" at the RMHS Student Leadership Conference today. I thoroughly enjoyed and got a lot out of your presentation. It is important that RMHS leaders continue to advance their leadership skills through forms of presentation, thought, and assessment. Your presentation was very helpful in renewing some of those skills for me and I just wanted to let you know how interesting and diverse the presentation was. . . thank you for sharing it with us, andfor helping the students at RMHS to become great leader."
- Zach Camenker Reading Memorial High School student leader; class of 2012
“Thank you so much for everything that you have taught me. You, literally, changed the way I think. Before going to the mental toughness sessions, I didn’t realize how negative some of my thoughts were. Now, I have learned to be positive, relaxed, prepared, confident, and focused. So I would like to thank you again for all that you have done.”
-Rebecca Crupi, Reading Memorial High School softball player
“My players’‘mental’ game continues to improve and thus has improved their overall game. I have seen a dramatic difference in a few players that have changed them from good players to outstanding. We are now moving into state tournament play with a first seed. I am so excited for them. We’ll be using a lot of your ideas to prepare and be ready on the court.”
-Michelle Hopkinson, Head Coach ReadingHigh School Girls Volleyball Team. Note: Coach Hopkinson’s team went on to win the MIAA Division I North Championship!
"Athletes and coaches contend that 50%-90% of their game is "mental" yet they spend less than 10% of their training on the mental aspects of the game. Through Personal Best, Coaches Pete Moscariello and Scott Farris teach athletes and coaches how to enhance their mental toughness and ability for maintaining peak performance. I have been a participant in Personal Best’s outstanding programs and have found them to be professional, highly inspirational and immediately beneficial. I have used the Personal Best’s techniques in both my professional and personal life with great results. I would highly recommend Personal Best to any athlete, coach, parent or anyone who wants to improve their chances for success in their chosen field.”
-Phil Vaccaro, Director of Athletics and Student Activities, Reading Memorial High School 2010 Massachusetts Athletic Director of the Year
Read how a high school student used Personal Best's techniques when taking the SAT:
"On the SAT, I found the techniques taught in Personal Best seminars very helpful,
especially the present moment focus techniques. I made sure to take a
deep breath before each section to get myself into green light. Also,
whenever I would get negative about having to waste a Saturday at school, I would
remind myself that I get the opportunity to go to college. Finally, I
normally tend to think about how every question will affect my score,
and how that will affect my admissions chances, and end up attaching much
more weight to a question than it deserves, but I kept reminding myself that
I knew the material, I was confident, and I just needed to focus on
process over results."
Kaitlin Menzie, Reading Memorial High School student-athlete
“The techniques learned in this class are useful in my everyday life.
The skill that I use the most is visualization. This technique teaches you to
vision where you want to be and then understand the process to get
there.”
-Kevin Palladino, North Andover High school baseball player
